Medieval Times

It's incredible how I'm neglecting my blog.
So, to remedy that I'll tell you a little bit about a nice day I spent out of time two weeks ago.

The medieval fest at Mons-en-Pévèle (Nord - France) wasn't the big one, but the atmosphere was really nice and we weren't bored only one minute. Workshops, artisan crafts, swords, belligerent warriors, birds of prey, horses (one of which was a handsome spanish stallion), and  people dressed with beautiful outfits...
To rent a medieval elfish dress helped me to feel so more comfortable (and warm, secondarily!!)
(unfortunately it was impossible to buy a dress here. That makes me want to make my own, but my sewing skills leave a lot to be desired!!)
There was a falconry show, and since I was one of the volunteers for it, a vulture walked on my back...

  1. That last photo is so funny, I've never seen a horse sitting like that before. That dress is beautiful and you look really pretty in it! And well, I have sewn quite a few dresses when I was in my history reenactment group, so maybe I could help a bit (:

    1. That's true, about the horse! (: Actually since I've seen so many equestrian shows it is'nt so impressive to me. That horse was also able to curtsey and to lie down (and eat grass at the same time! XD)

Thank you (: and yes, I was very interested by your article "how to make a viking dress" but I already have so much difficulties to follow a sewing notice in French... (x but my mother would like to help me, so I'll try to translate your pattern and show it to her...
